Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?

Little Man is quite the vocal one. Everyone says he has to try now, or else he will never get a word in with this family. The words he decides to say amaze me. The first "word" of shock value was "backpack." He used to love the Dora the Explorer theme song, as well as the "Backpack" song. Twenty-one days before he turned one, he said backpack. It shocked me. Why did he choose backpack? It's a two syllable word that is not the easiest to say. He said it perfectly clear. The new word is DIEGO! He doesn't even watch Go, Diego, Go. It doesn't hold his interest, but he has heard the themesong. Who knew he would pick up on the name Diego? The REALLY funny thing--he says it like they sing it on tv--Di-eeeeeeeeee-go! It's so cute! Another word that he says perfectly is "tickle." He tickles EVERYTHING. The child is hilarious!

WooHoo!!!!

Love for the DoodlePro

Little Man loves his DoodlePro that Nanny and Papa bought him. He takes it with him EVERYWHERE! We call it his 'AngerDoodle' because he often gets mad at it and throws a tantrum when using it. Little Man fell asleep with on the floor with his DoodlePro today. Oh to be young and just fall out!

Too fast, too soon!

Little Man is learning to feed himself with a spoon. Last night he ate what my Nanny calls "pantry stew." It's basically random ingredients thrown in a pot, and it creates a nice stew. Well, Little Man decided he wanted his own plate yesterday. Fine. Then he decided he wanted to feed himself. He smashed the stew up, then scooped it onto his spoon and ate it. Who knew that the day he turned 16 months old would make him so very independent?

What's happening to my baby?

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!!! We love you, even though you are HALF A CENTURY old! :)

Fall Festival...wheeeee!

Well, the Fall Festival was not really what I would call the most fun in the world There were tons of kids in cute costumes, but the booths were really lame. Nearly every booth was a beanbag toss game. LittleMan really couldn't do a whole lot, but it was nice to get try to partake in the activities. I did get some boiled peanuts out of the ordeal, so it wasn't a total bust! It was so packed that we didn't even get great pictures.

Ready for the Weekend!

Yay! The weekend is here! We are finally getting some nice fall weather. It's 53 outside right now and so COLD! :)

Our town is having a fall festival for the kiddos today, so we are going to attempt to put Little Man's costume on him for the festivities. I have a feeling he will end up in a Halloween t-shirt and jeans. I'm sure we will end up with cute pics nonetheless!

The Gators also play Kentucky today. The Coach is having issues trying to fit everything in to our schedule due to the fact that the game is on today. Don't you know that the world stops for Gator football? :)

Tonight is a birthday BBQ for Gigi. Gigi will officially be *OVER THE HILL* tomorrow. Little Man will also be 16 months old tomorrow! Where has the time gone?

Hopefully with all that we have going on today, Little Man will be tired and will sleep well tonight! :)

iBaby part 2...literally...

This is priceless. Little Man recently learned to climb up on the kitchen chairs. The Coach left the laptop up while he was cooking dinner. Little Man decided he wanted to surf the 'net. I guess they start young!

iBaby

I think that the little i in front of words is really cute...you know, iPod, iPhone, iCarly, now I am going to use i + another word to begin another post because it's cute. Please pardon my random quirk...

Baby products change from day to day it seems. Little Man is nearly 16 months old and already so many products have changed. I know that with the next baby, I want so many neat, new things!

We probably won't buy another crib. The Little Man never slept in his. I do want an Amby Baby. It's a sleep hammock that resembles the womb. Check them out here.

I also want a Beaba Babycook--it steams, blends, reheats, and defrosts baby food. I would have loved to made the Little Man's baby food, however it took so much time and when you teach full time there isn't a lot of extra time to can baby food. Perhaps that's just my excuse to buy this neat product. It's available at Williams-Sonoma. Click here.

I really wanted Little Man to be a worn baby. He hated every sling that I put him in. With another baby I will definitely have to get a BabyHawk carrier! They look so comfy. The C-man is too strong willed to be confined.

The list could go on and on and on, however people might get the wrong idea! No, we are not TTC right now, but it seems like everyone around is either pregnant, has a newborn, or TTC!

Losing sleep

Thursdays are the days of no sleep. What is it about Thursdays that make me lose approximately two hours of sleep? I don't know! I woke up 45 minutes early today, so now I am -45 minutes. Tonight the Coach has a game and I have to work the ticket booth. Little Man is staying with his Gigi, so after the game I will have to go pick him up, bring him home, shower, and get things ready for tomorrow. This will put my bed time at approximately 11:00 pm. I really can't function well without sleep.

Spirit Week

This week is Red Ribbon Week, and this year's theme is "I elect not to do drugs"- a cute play on the election. Tomorrow is 60's day, and of course I have clever kids. One of them raised his hand and asked a question. "Mrs. S? Why exactly are we having 60's day when we are trying to teach kids NOT to use drugs?" Sometimes these kids are too smart for the adults in the world around them.

iBlog

Well, I have made several blogs and deleted them. I feel like they just aren't good enough. I promise this one will stay. I've decided to take the advice that I give my students, you will never be good at something unless you practice. I just don't feel like I am a good writer. I teach kids how to write fomally, thus it is very hard for me to "freewrite."

So, I've decided to create this blog to document the milestones, adventures, and triumphs of our little family. For those that "know" us, the baby will be referred to as Little Man (nicknamed by Papa), and the husband will be referred to as the Coach. The dog, well we aren't afraid to air her dirty little secrets, so we will just call her Macie :).
